Introducing the Curious Nature Podcast

Last week I watched the last full moon of summer, a brilliant blue moon (second to appear in a month) that was so bright it cast shadows. This, on the day of the opening of our podcast, and I am thrilled to announce that the Curious Nature Podcast and website is now live!

Creating this podcast with Olivia Bowan, my wonderful friend, career coach, and now my podcast host to boot, has been an all around adventure, with learning curves and growth along the way.

Many moons ago I told her, as we were out walking in nature, you know what I think you really need is a podcast. You have all of this insight and I want you to share it with everyone. And the seed was planted.

I got into podcasting early on. When I was s kid I recorded my earliest show, WPET Pet News Line first recorded on cassette tape and was then forced upon anyone else in the Astro van as we headed down interstate I-75. I was hooked and my audience was captivated…or captive anyway.

And so many years later when digital podcasts rose to the forefront as an accessible way to communicate comedy, documentary and more I jumped at the opportunity. Learning how to edit a podcast while mercury was in retrograde (multiple times) was no picnic, but I am pretty thrilled with the final result and I hope you will be too.

In her newsletter Olivia describes our podcast as, an intersection of nature, science, and wonder in the way we wanted: with warmth and immediate usefulness.

Curious Nature is where wild meets wonder.

In our first season, we’re talking all about cycles: living with the seasons, working with your menstrual cycle, what it looks like when something falls out of cycle (hint: plateau). We even interview a NASA scientist (I know!) about the water cycle – and how we can be better stewards of this precious resource. We have an incredible first season planned for you!

Our premiere episode: The Beauty of Cyclical Living

What if there were a way to get everything done without pushing?

If you could honor your own longings for rest and productivity?

And what if, on top of that, you had a reason to celebrate every six weeks – and get closer to the rhythms of the earth while you do that?

That, Curious One, is exactly what we’re digging into in our first episode: The Beauty of Cyclical Living.

We go over so much in this first season, and I learned an incredible amount from Olivia with her vast knowledge on so many diverse topics.Olivia introduces the wheel of the year to me in this first episode, a concept, which I had briefly brushed past in my youth but I had never done a deep dive on.

A conversation with Olivia is like bringing a hamper of dirty laundry home from college and having everything lovingly washed, folded, and neatly stacked when you leave. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve shown up with jumbled thoughts, plans, and aspirations that leave me stumped, and then after an hour of talking with Olivia, everything takes on a natural order. It is through her direction and organization of ideas and plans that this podcast became a reality.

I think you’ll love this first episode! I know it’s given me an opportunity to celebrate every six weeks and to grow closer to the cycles of the earth throughout the seasons.

The Podcast is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Google Podcasts and anywhere you like to listen.

Please help us in celebrating this first episode by commenting your feedback on our Instagram page, feel free to leave us a comment, and it would be stellar if you take a moment to leave us a review? Not only will it help others to find us, but it could have a huge impact on our impact, which I have to say is what this is really all about.

P.S. As a bonus, we tucked a promo code for Tending the Magic, Olivia’s incredible course which I am stoked to attend, in the show notes. Check it out and save 10%. The course launches next week so sign up now.

With gratitude Curious Ones,

Meghan
